I liked It Takes You Away although I agree with you about the father, but I thought this was awful really. I was mostly bored by it, and then they used an almost subliminal image of Jerusalem as part of the "humans do bad things" montage and they just lost whatever goodwill I had left. I felt that if they were going to go to the Arab-Israeli Conflict, they should commit to it and do a whole episode like Demons of the Punjab (which I sincerely hope they never do), not a throwaway thing. And, anyway, I thought the Bad Thing we were supposed to upset about this week was pollution, not war/religion/nationalism? The lecture at the end was awful too, a reminder of the worst excesses of the Pertwee era.

Agreed about the station and Trial. It's probably coming from the same source material (Planet of the Apes), but considering Chris Chibnall made his first appearance in fandom complaining about Trial (albeit a later segment) it seems tempting fate. It was a strategic mistake anyway, as I spent the rest of the episode thinking that I like Trial much more than this, and I don't even like Trial that much.
