I think Whittaker has definitely settled into the role - although it should be noted that it wasn't until Capaldi's first Christmas special that I really warmed to him as the Doctor either. Dhawan was incredible - a little too over-the-top mad for my taste but that's all the Masters since Delgado so that's a ship that has long since sailed.
