B. visited a lot of these places as a child and in his teens. Some he says are hardly recognisable while others are more familiar. I don't think the bits of Whitby we saw had changed much - north of the river it was all winkle stands and penny arcades and then south of the river there were small streets of fairly posh shops - but I get a sense that further into the town the places more recent popularity with Goths and, by association, Steampunks is more obvious.
