Reading, Listening, Watching

Reading: Just finished After the Dinosaurs, moving on to Ninefox Gambit.

Listening: Still mostly Doctor Who podcasts, particularly now Radio Free Skaro have started their advent calendar.

Watching: Grimm mostly, though we did show the Teenager the first episodes of Blakes' 7

Actually, the basic set up holds up very well. There's a minimal amount of ret-conning the initial concept. They never really explain the physical changes and perception filter as any other than magical, although they do show DNA analysis of Woged Wesen hair follicles as showing non-human characteristics.
The two issues I have with the plotline later on just things I think don't quite work through too well. One is the classic problem of setting something as global as Grimms/Wesen in a relatively minor place like Portland, but then wanting one's show to have global impact. The other is just a character development that I think really doesn't work for me.
I'll stop being cryptic now and wait until you've seen that far, if you do keep going. I do like it, and the initial threads of ongoing plot do play out quite nicely.
